This tilt top occasional table is a very good quality piece of reproduction furniture that has a Regency influence in it’s design. It’s conveniently sized and nicely shaped yew wood veneered top is finished with crossbanded borders and reeded edging, and the underside of the top is made from mahogany. To tilt the top into an upright position you simply pull the period style brass catch which is fitted to the underside, and when it’s laid flat the top sits on a square platform which connects to the catch and secures the top in place. The elegantly fashioned solid mahogany base consists of a well turned centre column and a quartet of down swept legs which have yew wood veneered banding down each top edge. The condition is generally good, however t. Here are some marks and surface scratches in the top as well as a ring mark (pictured) at one corner.
