Antique Victorian Lacquer Papier Mache Tilt-Top Table by Wolfes of Birkenhead. Retailed by – Wolfes of Birkenhead (Label attached to underside). A beautiful late 19th century English lacquered paper mâché tilt top occasional table. The table is fully ebonised and richly decorated with an oval shaped tilt top that depicts a hand painted still life showing flowers with mother of pearl insets. The table has a turned stem terminating in a circular platform base with three cast iron black painted feet. The table flips open and secures in place with latch mechanism (working order). A highly decorative piece – Perfect to add that classic antique charm to the corner of any room. The table displays really nicely but wouldn’t recommend it for everyday use due to its delicate nature and the table doesn’t quite sit level. No knocks or damage to the papier mâché. A few imperfections to the decoration mainly to one of the red roses (see last image). In the interest of both parties, it’s important to remember that many of the items stocked are very old. There will be something wrong with the item which may significantly effect the item use. Very poor – Item is more or less unusable.
